A SONG FOR THE GENERATIONS

A Flickering Light

Receiving a gift. Carrying it forward.

Some gifts reach us through sacrifices we will never fully know. A Flickering Light asks how we will tend what has been placed in our care, so that those who come after us may receive its light.

Produced audio will be shared when approved for release.

A GLIMPSE FROM THE NARRATED MUSICAL

The story
behind the song.

An orchard may outlive the hands that plant it. So may an injustice—unless someone decides it must end.

Picture a young tree set among older ones, its roots pressed into the soil by a gardener who knows he may never harvest its fruit. The orchard offers a useful image of stewardship, but not every inheritance is a blessing. Some must be challenged before a future generation can live more freely.

Excerpt from A Song for the Generations: A Narrated Musical Journey, by Vidar Lee Byberg.

What have you received that you hope another generation will inherit?

You might begin by sharing the question with someone whose story touches your own, and listening for the memory it brings to the surface.
