OUR FIRST PLANNED PUBLIC EVENT
A narrated
musical journey.
Ten songs. Two acts. A story of the inheritance we receive—and the gift we pass on.
Written by Vidar Lee Byberg and published by DAWN, the musical adapts ten songs from the broader sixteen-song book-and-album collection A Song for the Generations. The live performance follows the ten-song sequence shown below.
Ten narrative movements lead into ten songs, weaving Scripture, family stories and historical accounts into a shared journey through faith, responsibility, reconciliation, belonging and Home.
ACT I — THE INHERITANCE
What have we received?
From the song entrusted to Moses to the choices of brothers and the turning of fathers’ and children’s hearts, the first act explores the stories and relationships that shape us.
- A Song for the Generations
- The Brother’s Keeper
- Same Blood, Different Roads
- The Lion Melted the Fog
- The Treasure Gathered There
ACT II — THE GIFT WE PASS ON
What will we carry forward?
The second act turns toward wisdom, gratitude, family, belonging and the Shepherd who knows us by name—asking what we will entrust to those who follow.
- The Silver Eagles
- A Flickering Light
- When the Maker Made Us Family
- Home
- He Called Him by Name (The Shepherd Walks Us Home)
Designed for live performance, the musical brings narration and song together so an audience can experience the story as one unfolding journey. An optional intermission follows the fifth song.
The hope reaches beyond the final song. Something heard together may help a parent find words for a child, or a younger listener recognize a gift carried quietly by someone older. Those encounters give the performance a life beyond the room.
Performance and event details will be shared as the work develops.
